Position Description
SRCTec is currently seeking a business development manager. This is a new position focused on developing business in the Redstone Arsenal and Huntsville, Ala., area. The successful candidate will indentify, qualify, develop and cultivate business opportunities with existing and new customers in Department of Defense (DoD).
Responsibilities include
* Comprehensive Business Development activities, including all products and development activities * Identify and develop opportunity leads to maintain the sales funnel/sales pipeline * Working closely with customer base to develop and articulate needs/requirements * Possess a working understanding of existing technologies to guide the customer base to appropriate and cost effective solutions * Monitor and assess competitive environment on a continuing basis * Provide insights to the Strategic Planning Process * Identifying customer technical/operational requirements and actively participate in proposal development by helping create offers that represent maximum affordable value to the customer * Lead proposal activities when appropriate * Ensuring that proposals address the customer’s key issues and requirements * Prepare and present technical briefings to high level corporate and DoD leadership * Work closely with Development Engineering to validate and flesh-out ideas and concepts * Recently retired officer or former senor government employee is highly desirable
Position Requirements
* Bachelor's degree in Marketing/communications or equivalent experience * 10+ years of business development and/or systems engineering experience for a technology based company * Experience in electronic systems engineering, military radar or communications programs is ideal. Radar and electronic warfare or communications systems engineering is an advantage. * Active participation in a major capture and proposal activity desirable * Product-based business development experience a plus * Approx. 25 percent travel required, both domestic and international * Prior defense experience in Acquisition * Program operation a plus
Additional skills/experience include * Requires development and management * System-of-System integration * Familiarity with Internal Research and Development (IRAD) and Earned Value Management (EVM) processes * Understanding of government/military structure * Proven track record of driving projects to closure, and a positive winning attitude * Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation and negotiation skills * Need to be technically savvy and skilled at developing new business
