Pay Grade/Pay Range: Minimum: $23.37 - Midpoint: $29.23 (Hourly N7)

Department/Organization: 200801 - University Press

Normal Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00am to 1:00pm

Job Summary: The eBook Publishing Sales Specialist PT studies existing and emerging, domestic and global, retail and library eBook distribution channels and their underlying business models on a part-time basis. Assess which channels benefit UA Press discovery, revenue, and prestige. Create a cohesive and actionable plan for each UA Press book distribution including a combination of distribution channels. Analyze pricing models in use today and set recommended pricing grid. Review outcomes and adjust distribution strategies as needed.

Required Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree and two (2) years of sales, marketing, or book publishing experience; OR master's degree and some sales, marketing, or book publishing experience.

Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree or higher in Humanities or Social Sciences and at least ten (10) years of relevant experience. Deep historical knowledge of the developments in retail book distribution, specifically ebooks in the retail (Amazon and B&N) and library markets. Knowledge and practical experience in intellectual property, rights, and permissions related to scholarly and trade publishing, print and ebooks. Occasional travel. Excellent organizational skills; detail oriented; ability to establish priorities and achieve goals; ability to manage a process from design to completion; ability to analyze and solve problems; ability to initiate and adapt to change; strong oral and written communication; ability to work independently and effectively in a collaborative setting. Competence in basic computer skills including standard suites of office software (Word, Excel, Outlook), the ability to master rights and sales software used at UA Press, and software required for remote work.

Skills and Knowledge: Not only some knowledge of the ebook and intellectual property fields at this moment in time but as they have evolved over the past 10-15 years, especially since the introduction of the first popular ebook reader in 2007.
