Description

The Regional EHS Coordinator, will coordinate and implement the overall function of the company's Environmental, Safety, and Health (EHS) strategies to promote and ensure effective safety operations. The Regional EHS Coordinator will assist in guiding and enhancing the culture of safety that is vital to the company and must have a proven track record of improving safety culture and maintaining results. This includes working with all departments and personnel to identify and implement safety improvement strategies. The Regional EHS Coordinator is also the primary liaison for communicating about safety with his/her regional and location leaders as well as throughout all levels of the organization. Other areas of responsibility include environmental compliance, DOT compliance, safety training programs, and employee injury management.

  • Collaborate with management to prepare and implement EHS strategies.
  • Support regional and location leaders by providing direction for safety culture, training, and environmental compliance.
  • Conduct safety inspections and audits to assess employee compliance with safety regulations, and identify opportunities to minimize workplace injuries, accidents, and health problems.
  • Help develop EHS strategies within the regional branch stores that support the corporate strategies.
  • Conduct/Support EHS employee training, and review EHS training and recommend revisions, improvements, and updates.
  • Interact with third parties and vendors that provide training and compliance support.
  • Implement EHS policies and procedures in compliance with local, state, and federal agencies including the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA), Department of Labor (DOL), Department of Transportation (DOT) and Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).
  • Implement safety tracking systems, safety metrics, and required recordkeeping and reporting at the regional branch stores.
  • Participate in professional conferences and educational opportunities.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels of the organization.
  • Collaborate with other functions within the organization to promote the EHS strategies.
Qualifications

Education
Bachelors (required)

Experience
1-3 years of experience is preferred with a minimum of 1 (one) year in an influential role. Knowledge and competence in OSHA, FMCSA, MSHA, and Environmental regulations is preferred. Experience preferred with hands-on responsibility in the construction, manufacturing, heavy equipment, or mining industry. (required)
