Job Description

TSC as an opening for a Quality Control Lead to join our production organization in our Huntsville, AL location. The Quality Control Lead will support quality inspection for products. This position will have day-to-day responsibilities managing Quality Inspectors.

Quality Control is focused on process outputs. Responsible for the effective management and/or day-to-day supervision of quality inspection. Oversees the development and implementation of standards, methods and procedures for inspecting, and evaluating the precision, accuracy, efficacy and reliability of products. Operates a quality system that complies with AS9100 standards. Oversees inspection of hardware, materials, parts, and products to ensure adherence to established standards of strength, quality, and endurance. Takes in every sample of product and checks for any defect that may be present in the product.

  • Provides overall management of Quality Control (QC) inspection teams by setting and operating to objectives

  • Provides guidance to direct reports based on goals, objectives, and company policy

  • Engages on the manufacturing floor and in work activities to provide direct support as needed while additionally coaching and mentoring personnel in quality methods and procedures

  • Maintains compliance with Quality Management System (QMS) policies, procedures, and processes to ensure the performance and quality of products conform to established standards, specifications, and customer requirements

  • Provide performance reviews and periodic feedback for all direct

Required Qualifications

  • Associate's Degree with 8 years of applicable experience, Bachelor's degree with 5 years of applicable experience as a quality inspector; an additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree

  • US Citizenship

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Quality Management Systems (AS9100, ISO 9001, NADCAP and government standards) and Certifications

  • Experience managing a team

  • Knowledge of mechanical and non-destructive inspection techniques

  • Knowledge of IPC and JSTD standards

  • Strong passion and relentless drive for achieving results in a fast-paced aerospace engineering and manufacturing environment

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills

  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills

  • Experience with Supplier Quality and Performance Management

  • Workforce planning and budgeting experience

  • Knowledge of engineering GD&T principles

  • Certification in JSTD, IPC-610, IPC-620, and IPC-600

  • Experience with Faro Arm and Wenzel Inspection tools
