Responsibilities

We are hiring a Systems Architect in Huntsville, AL. This role will have the ability to work both on/offsite(hybrid).

Peraton has a great opportunity to support the Aircraft Survivability Equipment(ASE) program as a systems engineer. Working to help the military with missile detection and evade technology.

    Performs independent high-level design of ASE application systems and how it would interface with aviation platforms.
  • Provides architectural and big picture oversight for development of new or enhanced products. Articulates the architectural vision, conceptualizes, and experiments with alternative architectural approaches, creates models and component and interface specification documents, and validates the architecture against requirements and assumptions.
  • Works with various product developers, product managers, and customer application experts to create software products containing required features and modifications.
  • Provides technical advice to other departments within the organization and may be responsible for integrating components built by product developers.
  • Establishes the basic structure of the system, defines essential core design features and elements that provide the framework.
  • Works closely with systems users in the identification and resolution of user problems and concerns for complex projects.
  • Performs cost-benefit analyses to determine whether requirements are best met by manual, software, or hardware functions; making maximum use of commercial off-the-shelf or already developed components.
  • Generates a set of acceptance test requirements for complex systems, together with the designers, test engineers, and the user to determine that all the high-level requirements have been met, especially for the computer-human-interface.
Qualifications

What you'll need:

  • Education: Minimum of 16 years with BS/BA; Minimum of 14 years with MS/MA; Minimum of 10 years with Ph.D.
  • Clearance: Active Top Secret clearance
  • Development of ASE architecture concepts, trades, and designs using the Modular Open Systems Approach (MOSA) for both the enduring and Future Vertical Lift (FVL) platforms
  • Experience development and presentation of briefing materials, technical reports, white papers, etc. for both internal and external stakeholders, including Courses Of Action (COAs), pros/cons, risks and recommendations
  • Provide research into modern network/communication approaches suitable for ASE, such as fiber-based high-speed Ethernet, publish/subscribe, Time-Sensitive Networking (TSN) and opportunities for off-boarding
  • Experience with oversight of requirements, design, development, and test of ASE Future Airborne Capability Environment (FACE) software modules, for incorporation into ASE Modernization

Target Salary Range
$146,000 - $234,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
