The work schedule for this role varies and is subject to change based on facility needs, with overtime, holiday, and weekend work required.

Pay: $15.25/hr

As an Off-bearer, you'll play a vital role in our operations by hand sorting veneer to the appropriate storage area immediately following the log peel/clip procedure. Here's a breakdown of your responsibilities:

• Pulling veneer of proper size into carts, ensuring it touches the backboard without being smashed into it.
• Stacking wood "to the poles and the backboard."
• Unplugging veneer from 54 stackers, and straightening plug-ups on overhead belts and strip trays.
• Preventing good veneer from going into drawback.
• Sweeping up sawdust and veneer scraps with a push broom.
• Painting various plant equipment and materials, such as barriers, frameworks, and guards.
• Adhering to company policies, procedures, and safety rules.

Requirements:

• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, rules, signs, and memos.
• Basic mathematical skills for counting and performing simple calculations.
• Physical ability to stand, walk, climb, kneel, stoop, and lift up to 50 pounds.
