Overview

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:


* Leads a team of 14 technical writers/editors responsible for the editing of technically oriented documentation.
* Write in explanatory and procedural styles for multiple audiences.
* Compile and manipulate test data, information, and results into test reports.
* Verify completeness of test data.
* Monitor the progress of test and project technical documents through the review process.
* Collaborate with and assist team of Writers, Editors, Engineers, Chief Engineer, and Director to ensure directorate documents move through the review process and are ultimately signed and forwarded to customers.
* Plan, develop, organize, write, and edit technical documents, including but not limited to test plans, test reports, and related documents to communicate complex, technical information.
* Assist engineers with capturing detailed procedures for directorate operations.
* Work with teams on test specifications and documentation requirements requiring the ability to quickly grasp complex technical concepts and make them easily understandable in text and pictures.
* Apply knowledge of test procedures, military standards (MIL-STDs), military specifications (MIL-SPECs), military performance specifications (MIL-PRFs), etc. as well as aerospace and other relevant standards in order to produce technically-oriented documentation that meets technical writing principles, and government standards.

REQUIREMENTS:

* BA/BS in English, Communications, or related disciplines from an accredited* college/university and have a minimum of 5-7 years experience in technical writing for a research and development organization.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFYING FACTORS:

As a condition of employment, must pass a pre-employment drug screening, as well as have acceptable reference and background check results.

Salary
$39/hourly
