Job Description:

Microchip has an opportunity for an Engineering Technician 2 at our office in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. The successful candidate will be responsible for the following engineering activities:

  • Support Engineering Activities including:
    • Design, Test, Check-out, Modification, Fabrication & Assembly of prototype electromechanical systems, experimental design circuitry, RF/Microwave devices and specialized test equipment.
  • Applications include Electronic Circuits, Microwave RF, and Logic Systems.
  • Work from Schematics, Diagrams, Written and Verbal Descriptions, Layouts or Defined plans to perform testing, Check-out and troubleshooting functions.
  • Perform Operation Test and Fault isolation on systems and equipment.
  • Assist in determining methods or actions to remedy malfunctions.
  • Assist in design, construction, test, and check-out of test equipment.
  • Use manufacturing, test, development, or diagnostic equipment, including, but not limited to, test programs, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, signal generators and specialized test apparatus.

Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Minimum Associates degree in related field.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years' experience and a proven track record of excellence in electronics assembly and test.
  • Ability to read and understand schematics and drawings.
  • Experienced in soldering and cable assembly.
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task and remain highly organized
  • Comfortable working with cross functional teams
  • Ability to learn quickly and adapt to fast paced environment.
  • Strong commitment to teamwork and process

Demonstrated proficiency in documentation generation, organization, and storage
