Job Description:

IS4S is seeking an Engineer or Developer in Auburn, AL to design and implement algorithms, model, and assess performance of Warfighting systems. Candidates should have knowledge or expertise in Position, Navigation, and Timing (PNT), Guidance Navigation and Control (GNC), Electronic Warfare (EW), and/or Warfighting systems. Warfighting systems of interest include platforms operating at ground, air, and space layers, Fires platforms, Precision Guided Munitions (PGMs), and other weapons systems. Candidates should enjoy working a variety of interrelated tasks that may be different in nature.
Candidates will work in a team environment and are expected to be self-driven problem solvers capable of operating independently on some tasks. Candidates must have strong analytical and communication skills. The position requires knowledge in multiple areas across the areas above, as well as data analysis, programming, and system integration. Regular customer interaction is expected through meetings, briefings, and reporting. Both full and part-time applicants will be considered, subject to the requirements listed below. Candidate must be a US citizen and eligible for a DoD clearance.
Typical activities include:

working in a team environment
analyzing large data sets to determine interrelations
assessing system behaviors and performance
developing algorithms to model behaviors (e.g., munition GNC in contested environments)
working with customer to define data and processing requirements for algorithms
implementing algorithms on real time hardware platforms
developing and using simulation tools to evaluate performance
creating analysis, assessment, and visualization tools for engineering purposes or to inform customers and end users
software and hardware in the loop testing, live testing at local sites, and live testing at Government sites

Required Experience and Skills:

Bachelor’s degree or higher in engineering, computer science, or related technical field (for full-time applicants)
In pursuit of a Bachelor’s degree or higher in engineering, computer science, or related technical field (for part-time applicants)
Skill in statistical data analysis and correlation techniques for large data sets
Proficient in analysis/programming languages such as MATLAB, Python, and/or C++
Understanding of 6-DoF dynamics and navigation/guidance processes
Familiarity with Monte Carlo analysis
Ability to turn concepts into efficient algorithms and software programs
Ability to generate graphics and visuals to facilitate communication
Strong written and oral communication skills
Ability and motivation to work with minimal direction

Desired Experience and Skills:

Navigation and/or sensor fusion experience
Understanding of optimal estimation
Familiarity with electromagnetic physics and modeling
Electronic Warfare experience
Familiarity with Assured Position, Navigation, and Timing concepts and systems
Experience with Army Command and Control systems, e.g., Advanced Field Artillery Tactical Data System (AFATDS)
Experience with Army fires weapons platforms and munitions
