SUMMARY Serve as a credentialed Principal Investigator (PI) and act as a Deputy Team lead in the Injury Biomechanics and Protection Group and provide expertise in a relevant field of injury biomechanics and research to meet the Injury Biomechanics mission and the objectives of the Blunt, Blast, and Accelerative Injury and Protection portfolio. This includes, but is not limited to, the mission of protecting the Soldier and other Service Members from physical stressors, such as blunt impact, blast exposures, and accelerative loadings, and optimizing personal protective and enabling equipment to maximize Soldier Lethality.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS - Degree in an engineering-related field such as electrical, biomedical, mechanical, biomechanics, physics, etc. - Must have a minimum of 8 years of experience in biomedical engineering or clinical with Bachelor's degree. - Preferred Masters with 5+ years experience or PHD with 3+ years experience in related field - Experience in laboratory procedures, testing, and research activities. - Experience managing a small team of technicians. - Must have data analysis and acquisition experience, including scientific software packages and principles of data acquisition. - Demonstrated experience with human volunteer performance and kinematic motion tools, techniques, and methodology for data capture and analysis. - Demonstrated experience writing peer-reviewed publications and presenting work at related conferences. - Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance (U.S. citizenship required, no dual).
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES Provide programmatic and technical guidance to Group and project team and management.
