We are seeking a Facilities Project Manager to join the team at our new manufacturing facility near the HSV airport in Huntsville, AL. The project manager will onboard and train at our Advanced Manufacturing Facility prior to transitioning to and helping setup the new facility.
Reporting directly to the Manager, Manufacturing Operations, this position develops the plans and leads the team through successful execution of site startup and production transition activities.

Aerojet Rocketdyne is growing in The Rocket City, Huntsville, AL! We've begun hiring for our third facility in the Huntsville area, a 379,000 sq.ft. manufacturing facility near the Huntsville airport that will specialize in the production and assembly of inert solid rocket motor components. We are also continuing to grow at our Huntsville Defense HQ for Program Management and Engineering, as well as our Advanced Manufacturing Facility in north Huntsville, where we produce advanced propulsion products.

The Facilities Project Manager role provides leadership support for projects at the new Huntsville site and is accountable for the management of related projects. Those facility projects may include design and implementation of equipment, facility improvements, and process transitions from other facilities in order to produce inert components for solid rocket motors. This individual will manage various elements of the program, which include defining and controlling program scope, developing and supporting the updates of overall schedules and budget, and acting as primary contact for assigned project elements. The program manager will assure, through the assigned team, that performance responsibility is properly delegated to performing organizations within AR and to outside suppliers.
40% - Provides management and leadership of assigned project teams in execution of the program plan for assigned program elements. Interfaces with support organizations to ensure program tasks are scheduled, on-track and properly staffed. Manages the day-to-day activities of the Huntsville site startup and production transition project teams. Interfaces with Program, Site, and Enterprise Management to establish priorities and assign personnel to meet those requirements. Team administrative functions.
30% - Establishes detailed program plans including schedules and budgets and supports the updates to them throughout the duration of the program. This is to include defining scope, resource requirements, timeline and impact for proposed projects. This may include supporting management and customer proposals and reviews.
20% - Monitors project progress and interfaces with Program Management, Aerojet Rocketdyne customers, and other Aerojet Rocketdyne functional organizations to communicate progress/performance and to understand and develop resolution to project issues. Supports the overall business/technical relationship with internal AR customers.
10% - Supports department and company improvement initiatives leading to reduced costs and improved quality associated with facility startup, production transition, and production ramp up.
This position requires a Bachelor's degree and five (5) years of directly related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

May be required to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance at the appropriate level. Requires U.S. Citizenship. Must also be able to satisfy federal government requirements for access to government information, and having dual citizenship may preclude you from being able to meet this requirement.
Work Environment and Physical Requirements:
The work environment may require a combination of indoor and outdoor activity (hot, cold, wet, humid conditions) with a varied amount of walking, standing, sitting, climbing (i.e. ladders, stair, scaffolding, ramps), balance (maintaining body equilibrium to prevent falling when walking, standing, or crouching on narrow, slippery, or erratically moving surfaces), bending, reaching, handling/fingering (seizing, holding, grasping, turning picking, pinching), stooping, kneeling, crouching and ability to lift/carry/push/pull up to 50 pounds. While performing the duties of this job, employees may work around variable noise levels. May require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, safety shoes, and shop coat. May also be required to work in a standard office setting and to use standard office equipment, including a computer. Ability to distinguish colors may also be necessary. Some employees may be required to drive between various locations within the Company facility or between locations. May require the ability to travel by air or auto. These positions may be expected to work varying shifts and hours to ensure successful operation of activities in the organization.
