MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum eight (8) years of experience in engineering or related field.
- Related technical education, degrees, certifications, and licenses from state and/or federal accredited programs.
- Demonstrated experience in basic circuits, wiring, and machine shop fabrication.
- Experience leading junior level team members.
- Demonstrated experience within at least 4 of the following research tool groupings: impact and/or shock devices, biomedical imaging and imaging analysis tools (including CT, MRI, and x-rays), high speed imaging and analysis tools, biomedical instrumentation (load cells, accelerometers, etc.), data acquisition equipment, biomechanical research and testing with demonstrated injury biomechanics research; PMHS research and data, and/or with Anthropomorphic Test Devices (ATDs).
- Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, standards, and procedures of data acquisition, mechanics, electronics, machinery, and instrumentation.
- Experience or the desire of experience with motion capture and data analysis.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a SECRET security clearance (U.S. Citizenship required).
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
- Experience in Post Mortem Human Subjects (PMHS) research, quality assurance and Biosafety Laboratory Level 2 good laboratory practice.
- Read, understand, and execute techniques and procedures within the quality standards and timelines prescribed by the research plan.
- Ability to coordinate multiple projects and initiatives at one time.
- Strong written communication skills and a solid understanding of Government contracting and the professional services industry.
- Expert computer skills with advanced knowledge and experience in Microsoft Office Suite software.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational skills and detail oriented.
- Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness; monitors own work to ensure quality.
- Proven ability to exercise mature judgment – specifically in recognizing and respecting the confidential nature of corporate and personnel matters.
WORK SCHEDULE
40 hours per week. May be required to work additional hours as needed to complete assignment or project.
DRIVING REQUIRMENTS
Potential for travel. When required, employee will need to complete an MVR check.
TRAVEL
May travel CONUS or OCONUS to conduct RDT&E, attend working groups meetings, training, workshops, conferences or other relevant meetings. Expectation of multiple data collections per year, up to 10%.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work is performed primarily in an office and /or laboratory setting. Laboratory environment includes human testing, so exposure may include but are not limited to: Blood-borne pathogens, bio-hazardous waste, chemicals, fumes, vapors, communicable diseases, etc. Employee will be exposed to a wide variety of people in differing functions, personalities, and abilities.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Lift and carry 50 lbs. individually and as a part of a team lift and carry operation; use hand tools to assemble and disassemble equipment, instrumentation, and test devices; climb and descend equipment, test devices, military vehicles, steps, or ladders; work indoors and outdoors in environmental extremes with rough terrain while lifting and carrying 50 lbs. of equipment, instrumentation, computers, test devices, etc. It is Katmai’s business philosophy and practice to provide reasonable accommodations, according to applicable state and federal laws, to all qualified individuals with physical or mental disabilities.
